DIME staff attend CONTENTdm User Group Meeting 2019

Jolie Graybill, Sara Ring, and Greta Bahnemann traveled to Indianpolis, Indiana to attend the CONTENTdm User Group Meeting 2019, where they had the opportunity to attend numerous sessions and interesting updates regarding CONTENTdm. Craig MacDonald kicked things off with keynote address on the User Experience (UX), in which he introduced the concept of capacity building  and the steps needed to intitiate and susatain effective UX practices. 

Jolie and Greta attended an update regarding the CONTENTdm Linked Data Project, where they learned more about the intiative to test the applicaiton of Wikibase to create Linked Data metadata for CONTENTdm objects. The Minnesota Digital Library was recently named one of the pilot project's participants - and both Greta and Jolie are actively involved in the work of the pilot project. The meeting also included a number of sessions on the current work of other CDM-using organizations.

Greta Bahnemann

Greta is the Metadata Librarian for the Minnesota Digital Library where she is responsible for implementing current metadata standards and best practices for the Minnesota Digital Library’s primary project, Minnesota Reflections, a digital collection of more than 274,000 images, maps and documents.

Before starting at the Minnesota Digital Library in June 2010, Greta worked as a complex original cataloger at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Greta holds a B.A. in History from the University of Minnesota, Morris; a M.A. from the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture; and a M.L.I.S. from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
