New contribution to Minnesota Reflections: Minnesota Department of Transportation

The Minnesota Digital Library is pleased to announce the addition of almost 375 Minnesota Department of Tranpsortation newsletters. These newsletters capture both the history and service of this department and the creation of statewide tranportation services.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation Library is located in St. Paul, Minnesota and is primarily a technical library providing information services to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. It also provides transportation-related information services to the state's city and county engineers, other transportation practitioners and citizens of the state. Its collections hold a limited amount of historic information primarily relating to the department and the development of highways in the state.

Greta Bahnemann

Greta is the Metadata Librarian for the Minnesota Digital Library where she is responsible for implementing current metadata standards and best practices for the Minnesota Digital Library’s primary project, Minnesota Reflections, a digital collection of more than 274,000 images, maps and documents.

Before starting at the Minnesota Digital Library in June 2010, Greta worked as a complex original cataloger at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Greta holds a B.A. in History from the University of Minnesota, Morris; a M.A. from the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture; and a M.L.I.S. from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
