If you are interested in learning more about self-publishing for yourself or your library patrons, check out Allison Campbell-Jensen's recent article in the University of Minnesota Libraries newsletter, continuum, "Open avenue to Minne-centric publishing."
The article explores MN Writes MN Reads, a suite of three tools: Pressbooks, Indie Author Project, and BiblioBoard Library that can be used alone or together to create, share, and read ebooks by independent publishers. The tools are free for anyone in Minnesota and can be used for professional or personal use.
In the article, I share my experience presenting these tools to media specialist Lisa Gearman's students at Chaska High School during National Novel Writing Month. If you want to know more about using MN Writes MN Reads with teens, you can view this recorded Minitex webinar.
